Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said that he will officially announce his bid for the Republican Party’s US presidential nomination on June 15 in Miami, Efe news agency reported.

In a Twitter post, Bush gave the date for his entry into a primary race that already includes more than a dozen Grand Old Party (GOP) candidates, including Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

The son and brother of former US presidents, Bush announced in January that he was exploring the possibility of running and since then has toured the country to raise funds for his super political action committee, Right to Rise, and gauge his popular support.

In addition to Bush and Rubio, other Republicans who have announced their attention to run in the GOP primaries include former New York governor George Pataki, Senator Lindsey Graham and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, two current Senators, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas; retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson; and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina also have officially announced their bids for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker also is expected to announce his entry to the GOP race in the coming days.
