The guests were treated to a glimpse from the glorious mogul Lucknow. The story of the immortalized courtesan Umrao Jaan, was narrated by Mirza Muhammad Hadi Ruswa (played by ophthalmologist Dr Nikhil Kaushik), and the scenes were enacted in various installations spread over the beautiful grounds of the Hyver Hall. Conceptualized by the director of the Akademi, Mira Kaushik, the show was enacted by the enthusiastic dancers and actors directed by Subhaluxmi Mukherji.
The guests included personalities – from the fabulously wealthy to artists, socialites, magicians and opinion-makers, supporting generously the Akademi’s charity and community projects in UK as well as India.
