CUPIDITY – By Bikram Vohra

Play Youth“What can you say about a twenty-five-year-old girl who died? That she was beautiful and brilliant? That she loved Mozart and Bach, the Beatles, and me?”

Remember those famous lines from Oliver Barret IV. Words that made Love Story such a big hit. Love means never having to say you are sorry.

It does not matter how much time flows under the bridge, love stays eternal and every now and then another saga comes along that makes us all believe that love is a many splendoured thing.

If you have nine minutes to spare to reiterate your faith in that four letter word ‘LOVE’ then watch this video. ‘Kismet Diner’ speaks’ for itself and I use the word ‘speaks’ in quotes because that is the core of the storyline. It is about this young girl who sings in a greasy spoon of a restaurant where working folks go to ease up.

This is how the story is explained; Sometimes you have to listen with your heart… One Saturday night, midway through an impromptu concert, she notices a customer she hasn’t seen before with a look of complete disinterest on his face. Laura wouldn’t usually mind, but with this guy, it’s as though she wasn’t even there. Who is he? And why can’t Laura stop looking at him?”

In nine minutes you go through a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Telling you any more would ruin the story and the only promise one can make is that it will touch your heart, so catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, never let it go away.
