More than 4000 devotees had attended the festival of colour called Holi at Shree Swaminarayan Temple at Stanmore in London. . The festival which marks and spreads the colour of spring and unity commenced from 6.30pm. Many devotees including young parents attended with their new-borns to seek blessings from the holy fire and from Lord Narshing. Offerings of coconuts, rice and corn were made to deities following circumambulation around the fire whilst pouring water onto the ground.

A range of activities were setup for the young children including a praying area where a beautiful image of Lord Narshing Bhagwan was placed. Throwing of colour was enjoyed by hundreds of children that came including Urvi Varsani aged 10 who commented how enjoyable the festival had been for her.
Ravi Sharma and Neha Bhatt from Lyca Radio 1458 were broadcasting live from the Temple. Uma Kumaran, Honorary Alderman Keith Toms and Bob Blackman MP along with other Harrow councillors attended the festival to celebrate with the devotees from all over the UK.
Uma commented on how much she enjoyed “being part of the festival and to take part in playing of Holi”. Honorary Alderman Keith Toms spoke very passionately about the diversity of Harrow and how he enjoyed seeing so many young children and adults. Bob Blackman MP echoed the voice of Keith Toms and further added on his joy of always visiting the Temple in Stanmore.
The President of Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Dharma Bhakti Manor, Khimjibhai Patel commented “This festival of Holi had been truly amazing and divine this year. We would like to thank all the devotees who attended especially all the youth volunteers who made this festival special”.
Many young volunteers from the Temple such as Karina Varsani and Riya Varsani ensured that everyone enjoyed the festival. Chandni Jeshani who was managing the colour stall said how impressed she was to see so many young children taking part in the colour throwing bring laughter and joy among many faces.
