The Travelling Band from Manchester have put up a reward after thousands of pounds worth of their equipment has been stolen during a burglary.
Police Constable Nichola Simpson from North Manchester division, said: “The van was filled with tens of thousands of pounds worth of The Travelling Band’s equipment.
“This included one of a kind guitars and other instruments they have spent years collecting and without this equipment they will not be able to perform.
“The band have just finished a two month tour and their last gig was in Leeds on Monday night. The van would have been emptied into their studio on Wednesday, but these opportunistic thieves ransacked Adam’s house and stole the band’s livelihood.
They used a hook and cane type implement and pushed it through the letterbox and removed house keys which were hung up behind the door.
Once inside the offenders ransacked the rooms downstairs and stole an iMac, Xbox, flat screen television and other personal items.
During the search the keys for the van which was parked on the road were stolen, the offender loaded the van with their booty and drove off in an unknown direction.
“Today, the band have put up £1,000 reward for anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts of their van and equipment.
“If you have been offered specialist band equipment under suspicious circumstances, I would urge you to contact the police as soon as possible, without their instruments the band can no longer perform and earn their living.”
Adam Gorman, from The Travelling Band, said: “If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of our van and equipment please come forward.
“Our entire touring kit and livelihood has been taken and we have no way to carry on without it. It is equipment we have amassed over many years and some of it is irreplaceable.”
Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to call police on 0161 856 3020 or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
