Junker defeat not ‘my last stand’: Cameron

British Prime Minister David Cameron said that his failure to stop the nomination of Jean-Claude Juncker for the EU’s top job is not his “last stand” in Europe, reported BBC.

He vowed that he’s not going to “back down”.

EU leaders voted 26-2 to reject Mr Cameron’s plea to prevent Mr Juncker becoming European Commission president.

Mr Cameron said the selection of Mr Juncker, was “a bad day for Europe”.

However, Ed Miliband said the Juncker election represented an “utter humiliation”

Meanwhile, the decision to formally nominate Mr Juncker was announced by Herman von Rompuy, president of the European Council, on Twitter. “The European Council proposes Jean-Claude Juncker as the next President of the European Commission,” reported The Times.
