UAE cements ties with Malaysia

 

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of U.A.E. Armed Forces, and visiting Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mohammad Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak,  attended the signing ceremony of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on tourism and higher education and an agreement on building a mosque complex in Bandar Malaysia.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, U.A.E. Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and Nazri Abdul Aziz, Malaysian Minister of Tourism ‘&’ Culture, signed an MoU on cooperation in the field of higher education.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, U.A.E. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Idris Jusoh, Malaysian Minister of Education, signed an MoU on higher education and scientific research. 

U.A.E.’s Awqaf Chairman, Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, and Malaysian Minister of Tourism ‘&’ Culture, and Mohammed Hazem Abd Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MBD), Malaysia’s development fund, signed an agreement under which the Malaysian fund, as the master developer of Bandar Malaysia, will provide a dedicated site for the project and the U.A.E.’s Awqaf will fund the development of its design and construction.

Also present at the signing ceremony were H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC), H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to U.A.E. President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism ”&” Culture Authority, and a number of ministers and senior civilian and military officials.

From the Malaysian side, Mrs. Rosmah Mansor, wife of the Malaysian prime minister, Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Minister of Defence, Hasan Malek, Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperative, ”&” Consumerism, Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamza, Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN), General Zulkifeli Mohd Zain, chief of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), and Ahmed Anwar bin Adnan, Malaysian Ambassador to U.A.E. attended the signing ceremony.Plane Malay 1
