‘You’re in my house!’ Obama tells heckler

obamaA Video footage has captured the moment Barack Obama dealt with a heckler during a gay pride event at the White House.

The US President was hosting a reception to observe LGBT Pride Month in the East Room when he was repeatedly interrupted by shouting from a member in the audience Reports Sky News.

But after attempting to reason with the heckler in a good-natured manner, a visibly annoyed Mr Obama then ordered security to eject her from the event.

He said: “Listen, you are in my house. You know what, it is not respectful.

“You’re not going to get a good response from me by interrupting me like this.

“Shame on you, you shouldn’t be doing this. Escort this person out.”

After the woman, identified as Jennicet Gutierrez, was removed, he added: “As a general rule I am just fine with a few hecklers. But not when I’m up in the house.

“Because you know my attitude is if you’re eating the hors d’oeuvres, you know what I’m saying, and drinking the booze, I know that’s right.”

Ms Gutierrez had been protesting about the release of LGBT immigrants from detention and calling for a halt in deportations.

The crowd had begun chanting “O-Ba-Ma!” to drown out the shouting.
