The US and coalition military forces continued to conduct airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) forces in Syria and Iraq over the past two days, the US Defense Department has said.
During the period, fighter and bomber aircraft conducted 14 airstrikes in Syria, and fighter aircraft conducted six airstrikes in Iraq, Xinhua reported citing a statement released by the Defense Department Monday.
Airstrikes in Syria destroyed 12 IS fighting positions, two large units, five crude oil collection points, two armoured vehicles and a shipping container, the statement said.
Meanwhile, airstrikes against the IS in Iraq destroyed four large units, two excavators and three vehicles.
Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Iraq include the US, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and Britain.
Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Syria include the US, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
