Creativity in art is heavily influenced by the state of mind of the artist, which is why it is seen as a concentration of an idea or concept into a physical entity. But, for most people art is like a mystery waiting to be solved. With underlying themes and messages, the journey of art is best enjoyed by the viewer who demystifies it. This is why London-based Treniq has collaborated with two such Indian artists whose works reflect their traditional roots in a contemporary style.

As a contemporary artist of the modern generation, Mr. Krishn Kanhai has stamped his name in the world of art through numerous awards and recognitions. Mr. Krishn Kanhai is a decorated artist, having been bestowed with the ‘Padma Shri Award’ – the highest civilian award given by the Republic of India. His paintings are works of art that highlight traditions and the Indian culture in a contemporary form. Rich not only in colours but also in its use of gold accents, his paintings have adorned the walls of celebrities and political hotshots. They are regularly sought-after around the world, especially in Great Britain, where Mr. Kanhai has a big set of clientele. It is this love for Indian Art in the UK that fuelled Mr. Kanhai’s decision to exhibit his paintings in London.

Taking the family name forward as the scion of the famous Kanhai legacy, Arjun Kanhai carries the genes of art within him. Creating a niche for himself, this young contemporary artist mirrors social issues through vibrant expressions on canvas. Under the tutelage of his father, Krishn Kanhai, Arjun has grown as an independent artist whose work has impressed many Bollywood celebrities and political personalities.

AK-KrishnaIsIn EverybeingArjun’s paintings and his style of work stems from his culture. His current collection, the one he is working on, portrays the Hindu god ‘Krishna’ in a contemporary aura. Stemming from the emotional interpretation that God resides in each one of us, he is trying to portray common people and their faces as Krishna in his paintings by using mixed media. He is trying to capture the rich integration of science and philosophy through intense use of acrylic and oil colors with the use of gold foils and photography.
