Indian expatriates residing across United Arab Emirates (UAE) are set to celebrate the 43rd UAE National Day Dec 2.
The UAE celebrates its National Day Dec 2, which marks the unification of the seven emirates and the founding of the country in 1971 under Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president.
Various Indian social and welfare groups and community associations are organising events and activities to mark the Spirit of the Union National Day of the UAE’s seven emirates, Khaleej Times reported.
In Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), the Indian Association will organise a grand celebration Nov 30.
The celebration is planned in coordination with the Indian School RAK and various Indian organisations.
In Sharjah, the Indian Association is organising celebrations in coordination with the Sharjah Indian School’s boys and girls wings Nov 30. Senior Indian officials and prominent members of the community are expected to participate.
The UAE is home to around two million expatriate Indians, many of them blue collar workers.
