Legendary ghazal singer Ghulam Ali left music aficianados mesmerised with his rendition of his classic numbers at a concert held here for a cause. He has urged the public to banish female foeticide from the society.
The ‘Ek Ehsaas’ concert was held at the Siri Fort Auditorium in aid of Arise’s social awareness program Sangam’s effort to educate people about girl child care and development.
“My songs have always been about spreading the message of love and universal brotherhood. Thus being associated with this cause is a moment of pride for me as via this association I seek to encourage my admirers to become a part of the cause and help in evading the tragic situation of female foeticide from our country,” Ghulam Ali said.
He sang classics like “Chupke chupke”, “Kal chaudhvi ki raat” and “Hungama kyu hai barpa”.
The evening featured a blend of Hindustani classical music with ghazal singing. While the audience was captivated by Ghulam Ali’s singing, they were also made aware of Sangam’s endeavours towards shaping a better tomorrow.
