Time To Act is a Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, Promoting human rights internationally, Preventing conflict in fragile states, Defence and armed forces, Equality, rights and citizenship, Foreign affairs and International aid and development. From early morning on Tuesday 10 June there will be 84 hours of global action to highlight the fight against sexual violence in conflict. Events will take place around the world from Astana to Zagreb including a #TimeToAct hot-air balloon, street art and the illumination of iconic landmarks. The global event relay will be key part of the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, which is taking place at the ExCel Centre in London from 10 – 13 June. Over 145 governments, alongside international organisations and NGOs will be taking part in the Summit, the biggest international event ever on this issue. The Summit will focus on agreeing practical action to shatter impunity for perpetrators of crimes of sexual violence in conflict, support survivors and develop international co-ordination Sexual violence has been used as a weapon of war in conflicts worldwide. It destroys lives and damages communities, and affects men, women and children of all ages.
