Guests look at the gowns inspired by cancer cell at the fashioning cancer fund-raiser event in Vancouver, Canada, Sep. 23, 2014. University of British Columbia professor Jacqueline Firkins created a set of ten pieces gowns that inspired by microscopic photos of cancer cells and put them in auction at a fund-raiser event for Canadian Cancer Society. The dresses created with “enlarged” cancer cells aimed at getting people to discuss beauty and body image while creating alternative imagery for discussions of cancer, hence to raise the awareness of cancer researches.
