HCL has launched HCL Talent-Care to bridge the gap between the available and required talent pool in verticals like information technology, banking, insurance and healthcare.
HCL is also banking on the acquisition route to fill future gaps in its content, technology solutions and staffing expertise. “We will be open to acquisitions in the staffing space if need be and then look at backward integration in skilling,” said Shiv Nadar, founder and chairman of HCL and the Shiv Nadar Foundation,
Over the past year, HCL TalentCare has sourced, skilled and staffed around 600 engineers to leading IT companies in the country.
“This was a pilot we quietly ran to test the model and now we are confident of enrolling 20,000 people for various courses in the next three years,” HCL CEO and executive director, Roshni Nadar said. The courses will be priced at around Rs 1.5 lakh at the entry-level but the pricing will vary from course to course, depending on their design.
Mr Nadar has been named India’s ‘Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year’ (2014) by Forbes India Magazine as part of their annual philanthropy awards.
The flagship award recognizes Nadar as an individual whose leadership and contributions in philanthropy has brought in new thinking into solving complex social issues, a statement said here Friday.
