Legendary Hollywood Star Sir Christopher Lee, who scared the world by playing Dracula in 60s died at 93. The 1958 film, ‘Dracula Has Risen From The Grave’ made him world famous. The younger generation knows him as Count Dooku in Star Wars films and his Saruman in ‘Lord of the Rings’ and a role in ‘Hobbit’.
Sir Christopher has amassed more than 250 screen credits .He was best known for his roles as Dracula and more recently Saruman in the Lord of the Rings franchise. He was known as the master of horror. After being hospitalised for respiratory problems and heart failure he died.
The veteran actor, immortalised in films from Dracula to The Wicker Man through to James Bond and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, passed away last Sunday morning in London.
The actor was knighted in 2009 for services to drama and charity and was awarded the Bafta fellowship in 2011.
Actors, musicians, and even the Prime Minister, have all paid tribute to Lee’s great talent. His Lord of the Rings co-star Dominic Monaghan and Sir Roger Moore, who played 007 opposite Lee in The Man With The Golden Gun, were among those leading the tributes.

He has often said that his title role in Jinnah, about the founder of Pakistan, is one of his favourite portrayals. He never stopped working and only last year marked his 92nd birthday by releasing a heavy metal version of the Frank Sinatra classic My Way. It was one of seven tracks on an album called Metal Knight he recorded with an Italian band called Rhapsody Of Fire.
