When the news that Shah Rukh Khan will host “Got Talent World Stage LIVE” came out, many felt that he is returning to the small screen. But the Bollywood Badshah clarifies the misconception saying “it is a live show” and he will host it the way he hosts a Filmfare Award function.
“Got Talent World Stage Live”, said to be first of its kind global on ground extension of the “Got Talent” franchise, is premiering in India. Schedule for Dec 6, the event, which will take place at Mumbai’s Andheri Sports Complex, will see performances by 10 Indian and international talents. It will be telecast on Colors.
“They are doing a live show and I really like it…You get a stage where you can showcase people of different talents. I am hosting it for a couple of hours,” Shah Rukh told IANS before leaving for his “SLAM! The tour”.
“So it’s a live show, and it’s not a television show as people are assuming that I am back on television. It’s just like I host a Filmfare show,” he added.
The superstar, who became popular with his TV show “Fauji”, enjoyed bigger success in the movie industry and his fame rose to such heights that he has been decorated with epithets like “superstar”, “Bollywood Badshah” or “King Khan”.
After his impressive movie career, he returned to his roots to host the third season of game show “Kaun Banega Crorrepati”. The 48-year-old also hosted “Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?” and “Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout”.
Talking about the talent shows, SRK said he “likes” them.
“I like ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, I like ‘India’s Got Talent’. I see people and some of them are amazing… So I find interesting,” said Shah Rukh, whose “Happy New Year” trailer launch saw the performance by Fictitious Dance Group, which had particiapted in “India’s Got Talent”.
“So, I guess they have ‘World’s Got Talent’ and they will go to different countries every year and take the world’s top 10 talents from Britain, Australia India and showcase. I think, it is interesting to happen in India, so I said yes…” he said.
“Got Talent World Stage LIVE”, executed by Cineyug, is an on-ground extension of Colors’ marquee talent show, “India’s Got Talent”. The format was created and is owned by Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and is co-produced by FremantleMedia India.
