Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body and operator of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has installed thee large TV screens in the departure concourse of BIA, in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The screens have been set up in three different locations, namely opposite gate 13, gate 16 and the coaching station to allow for easy access and viewing.
In line with BAC on-going commitment to enhance passengers’ experience, all 2014 World Cup matches will be broadcasted at the airport during the period between 12th of June to the 13th of July. Providing passengers with a unique opportunity to relax and watch the games while waiting to board their flights will also emphasise on BIA position as a key transit hub.
According to Mohamed Thamir AlKaabi, Vice President of Airport Operations at BAC, “The entire world is anticipating the 2014 FIFA World Cup and we wanted to make sure we made the games available to our passengers as well. The decision to bring the World Cup to BIA stems from our commitment to continuously enhance the airport’s services and provide a pleasant travel experience for our passengers. We always seek new ways to ensure passenger needs are being met and every journey through or out of BIA is memorable.”
BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision. In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
