Louvre Abu Dhabi will present a collection of its exceptional works as part of a new exhibition, entitled: Birth of a Museum, for the first time in Paris.
More than 160 works acquired by Louvre Abu Dhabi – never seen before in France – will go on show till July 28.
This collection celebrates the dialogue between civilizations in a spirit of universality and humanism.
By showcasing artworks of the greatest world civilizations, from early history to the contemporary scene, they highlight the universal scope of establishing a new museum, which is scheduled to open in December 2015. Last year, Abu Dhabi hosted a similar exhibition, from April 22 to July 20 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, the art and exhibition centre of Saadiyat Island Cultural District.
It was inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Hazaa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi.
