Dr Rami Ranger MBE, founder and chairman of Sun Mark has been conferred the Business Personality of the Year 2014 Award in the Asian Business Awards. The Award was presented by the education secretary, the Rt. Hon. Michael Gove MP. Having established his first enterprise with just £2 and a typewriter in 1987, Dr Rami Ranger, the award-winning business-entrepreneur, philanthropist and political reformer now oversees Sun Mark, a £180-million-a-year operation, has come a long way. His business has received a record-breaking five successive Queen’s Awards and Rami himself has been awarded the MBE for his efforts to foster greater social and political opportunities for the British Asian community. From rags to riches, Rami has proved that nothing is impossible if you the five principles of life—self-respect, hard-work, commitment towards your work/ cause, vision and empathy towards others.
